Writing Camps in New York

In October 2024, Furu Music journeyed across the pond to JFK Airport to spend a week in Brooklyn and Manhattan, New York, making connections and setting up writing camps.

For seven days, the Norwegian crew of seven, consisting of 4 artists/writers and 3 producers, met and worked with with twelve American creatives to make 16 songs in total. Among these were four sessions with the acclaimed mixer/producer Chris Sclafani, and the bassist/producer Jerry Barnes – with whom several of our crew members has traveled back to work more with since.

The journey also established connections with several industry actors like FUGA, Declared Goods music label, Kensaltown East Studios, The New Colossus Festival and others.

A toast goes to our Norway–New York based partner Stein Bjelland for igniting connections, and to our international partners in ABR Management and Clive Davis’ Institute for facilitating talented connections.

The next journey orchestrated by Furu Music will happen early spring 2026. Stay tuned for updates. Several of 2024’s travel members have already traveled back to continue collaborations, and we will focus on building on our established connections.
